Rhetoric Audience

I am going to write about how I used rhetoric in my Miami essay. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I definitely tailored my essay to appeal to my audience. My audience was a panel of admissions officers. I didn't know exactly who they were, but I assumed they would prefer a more professional style of essay. I did play to one of my advantages though. I knew they would have a strong connection to Miami, so I tried to use that to help "give them what (I think) they wanted to hear." I tried to tell them of my own personal connection to Miami. It must have worked, because I'm here at Miami now!

What is good writing?

What is good writing?
 I believe good writing will make the reader want to keep reading. It should grab the audience's attention and be detailed. I thinks it is the small details in writing that make the reading interesting.

How do you become a good writer?
You become a good writer in the same way you become good at anything else: with lots of practice! Once you know the basics of how to write, you can build on it and become a better writer.

What are the easiest / most difficult things for me as a writer?
One of the easier things for me is finding out what I want to write about. I will usually have an simple idea in my head that I can put on paper. The hard part comes when I have to expand on my thoughts and add in details.
